Can I bring my own jewelry?
Yes and no. We will only use jewelry from UNHINGED for initial piercings. We might use a piece of jewelry you bring for a jewelry change after your piercing is healed. We will have to make sure it is up to our standards according to the shape and material of the piece. We will need to run it through a sterilization process, also.
Can I bring a friend to watch?
Yes! We would love to meet all of your friends, but maybe just one or two at a time.
Can I bring my kids?
Please limit the number of small children you have with you. Any small children in the shop will have to be monitored at all times in the lobby area by an adult and are not allowed in the procedure room.
Can I take pictures and video of my piercings?
Please be respectful of our piercer’s privacy by not video recording in the procedure rooms while they are working. Before and after photos are welcomed.

Any piece of jewelry that goes into your body during your piercing or jewelry change will be yours and will need to be purchased by you. We do not accept returns on jewelry.
What should I do if something is wrong with my piercing?
If you feel that something is wrong, please come into the shop as soon as possible so your piercer can assess the situation and find a solution for you. What's the deepest hole on the planet?
Well, the Russians drilled a really deep hole in the 70s but they had to stop because the earth just started melting their drill bits. Kora Borehole.
How many piercings can one person get?
We like to limit people to 3 piercings per sitting. It gets hard to heal more than that at once. We want you to be a happy person, not a miserable one.
What kind of licenses do your piercers have?
All of our piercers are licensed by the State of Minnesota. Licenses for each individual piercer can be found on the MDH body art website. They also are required to renew their bloodborne pathogens certification every year. Our staff is also CPR certified.
How long until I can change my jewelry?
Please leave the original jewelry in your new piercing for 4-6 weeks. Downsize based on swelling.
For oral piercings, you will typically downsize twice. Once at 2 weeks and again at 4 weeks. Healing time is different for everyone and for different piercings.
Please keep up with the downsizing for oral piercings, as the swelling goes down the jewelry can catch and cause oral damage if not downsized correctly.
We can always help you with changing your jewelry. It is ideal to have a piercer do this the first couple times to avoid damaging the newly formed, delicate skin.
Please do not take the jewelry out for extended periods of time if you are planning on keeping the piercing. If you do take the piercing out and it is difficult to reinsert it, don't take it out again for a while.
Do you pierce with a piercing gun?
No. We use single use, hollow needles. Piercing guns cause trauma to the piercing side. They cannot be sterilized and slam a dull piece of jewelry through the flesh to pierce the body.
I have sensitive ears, can I still get pierced?
Yes! We only use high quality body jewelry made up of hypoallergenic materials such as titanium and steel. Some of our supply companies include Neometal, Trident, Anatometal.
Can I still breast feed if I pierce my nipples?
Yes! Nipple piercings do not affect breast feeding because the milk is secreted through glands
throughout the nipple. Please do remove your jewelry and keep it out while breastfeeding. Jewelry should be kept out for the entire duration of your breastfeeding time. Once you have weened your baby, we can try and reopen the piercing. If we are unable to do this, we can often times re-pierce the nipple in the same place it was before.
